The Greenwich Choral Society announces auditions for Fairfield and Westchester County singers interested in becoming a member of the area’s premier choral group.

Bill Fulton, Registrar for the Choral Society explains, “The audition will begin with a discussion of your previous choral/vocal experience with Christine Howlett, Music Director.  She will lead you in a vocal warm-up to hear your voice and range.  If possible, please prepare a song or favorite hymn to perform a cappella or with accompaniment.  If you do not have music available, please just bring yourself!  There will be a brief opportunity to sight read and talk about how you learn music and practice on your own in preparation for rehearsals.”

All voice types are invited to schedule a 15-minute audition. Those interested may email Bill Fulton at cbful@snet.net to schedule a date and time.

Transcendence & Triumph

April 20, 2024, 4:00 PM

Greenwich High School, Performing Arts Center

From the transcendent to the triumphant, we begin the program with Vaughan Williams’ sublime and romantic Serenade to Music and Gjeilo’s Luminous Night of the Soul. We conclude our season with the dramatic and joyful Lord Nelson Mass, arguably Haydn’s finest choral-orchestral work.

We recognize that great music is a powerful way to bring communities together. Let’s hope and dream!

Throughout its long history, the Greenwich Choral Society has embraced the diversity of our musical heritage. The vast range of musical repertoire enjoyed by our audiences will be featured as we celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2026, and well into the future. Stay tuned!
